Hostinger’s advertised rate is a floor price you only reach by prepaying the full 48-month term. Getting through those 48 months without needing daily backups, and living with a 5.5x renewal at the end of the term, are both the customer’s problem.

The gap over five years is about $673 — roughly the price of a used bicycle. The specific reason to leave
Two things about Hostinger deserve a close read before you sign the 48-month check.
One: the pricing mechanic. The $1.99/mo rate is real, but it isn’t a monthly bill — it’s a discount for prepaying four years at once. You are locking $95.52 into a contract that Hostinger’s Terms of Service govern, and you are the one deciding today what your hosting relationship should look like in the year 2030. Inside those four years, if the service starts to hurt — outages, control-panel issues, account disputes — the money is already gone. Hostinger’s own status page and independent uptime tracking show a pattern worth reading: 171 incidents in a recent 90-day window, including hPanel loading failures and regional server maintenance events.4 Not catastrophic; not nothing.
Two: the account-suspension pattern. This is the part that requires attribution, and we’re going to be careful about it. A public review aggregation covering Hostinger complaints on Trustpilot describes a recurring pattern: “Hostinger accuses legitimate websites of phishing, permanently wipes entire accounts without warning, then denies backups and refunds.”3 That is a summary written by a third-party review site quoting an aggregated pattern across 350+ Trustpilot complaints — it is not our observation, and Hostinger disputes accounts of the pattern. What we can say factually: the complaints exist, they cluster around a specific mechanic (abuse team → account wipe → denied restoration), and if you’re planting a business on Hostinger for four years, they’re the kind of pattern worth reading before you sign.
