Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use the hosting services provided by R Software & Consulting LLC, doing business as Candor Host. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service by reference. Violation of this AUP is grounds for suspension or termination of your account.

The short version

Do not host anything illegal, malicious, deceptive, or abusive. Do not send spam. Do not consume disproportionate resources. Do not use our services to harm other people or infrastructure. If something you're doing might qualify, ask us first.

Prohibited content and activities

You may not use Candor Host to host, distribute, transmit, or facilitate any of the following:

Illegal content

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We report suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Accounts hosting CSAM are terminated immediately, preserved for law enforcement, and reported.
  • Content that violates U.S. federal or Florida state law, or the law of any jurisdiction where you or your visitors are located.
  • Content in violation of export controls or sanctions (OFAC).
  • Content that promotes or facilitates human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or the sexual solicitation of a minor.

Malicious content

  • Malware, ransomware, viruses, trojans, keyloggers, or other malicious code.
  • Phishing pages, credential harvesters, or deceptive login pages impersonating any third party.
  • Command-and-control servers for botnets or malware.
  • Cryptocurrency drainer scripts or wallet-drainer smart contracts.
  • Content intended to circumvent access controls, DRM, or paywalls.

Deceptive or fraudulent content

  • Fraudulent e-commerce, financial scams, "get rich quick" schemes.
  • Fake pharmaceutical, medical, or health product sales.
  • Fake ID, fake document, or fake credential services.
  • Deepfake content depicting real people without their consent, particularly in a sexual or defamatory context.
  • Impersonation of any brand, government agency, or individual.

Harassment, hate, and violence

  • Hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status.
  • Content advocating violence against people or groups.
  • Doxxing — publishing private information about individuals without consent.
  • Targeted harassment campaigns.
  • Content promoting or glorifying terrorism, mass violence, or self-harm.

Adult content

Adult content directed at consenting adults is not per se prohibited but requires prior written approval from us and additional compliance measures including age verification, geo-restrictions where required, and confirmation that all performers are 18+ with documented 2257 records. Contact legal@candorhost.com before hosting adult content.

Spam and unsolicited communications

  • Unsolicited bulk email (UBE) or unsolicited commercial email (UCE).
  • Sending email that violates the CAN-SPAM Act, CASL (Canada), GDPR/PECR (EU/UK), or any similar law.
  • Operating "list broker" services or selling email lists.
  • SMS spam, robocalls, or automated telemarketing.

See our Anti-Spam Policy for details.

Network abuse

  • Denial-of-service or distributed-denial-of-service attacks (DoS/DDoS) against any target.
  • Port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing against systems you do not own or have explicit written authorization to test.
  • Operating open proxies, open relays, or Tor exit nodes.
  • Using our infrastructure to intentionally circumvent geographic restrictions in a way that violates the target service's terms.

Resource abuse

  • Cryptocurrency mining of any kind.
  • Sustained CPU use that materially degrades service for other tenants on shared infrastructure.
  • Deliberate use of disk I/O, database connections, or memory patterns designed to exhaust the platform.
  • Storing content unrelated to the operation of your website — for example, using your hosting account as a general-purpose file locker or backup destination.
  • High-frequency automated scraping or crawling that consumes disproportionate bandwidth.

Third-party rights violations

  • Infringing on any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret. See our DMCA Copyright Policy.
  • Publishing content that constitutes defamation, invasion of privacy, or publicity-right violations.
  • Distributing content in breach of a confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement.

Rate limits and shared-resource fairness

Even on plans with published limits, we expect fair use of shared components (mail relays, DNS, CDN in front where used). Bursts of unusual traffic that materially impact other tenants — even if within your CPU and memory quotas — may result in throttling or a request that you upgrade to a plan that better fits your traffic pattern. We will always try to talk to you first.

Enforcement

We may respond to AUP violations with any of the following, at our discretion:

  1. Warning: for first offenses that appear inadvertent, we typically warn you and ask you to correct the issue.
  2. Content removal: we may remove or disable access to specific content that violates this AUP.
  3. Rate limiting or throttling: for resource-abuse issues.
  4. Suspension: temporary suspension of your account pending resolution.
  5. Termination: permanent termination of your account for serious or repeated violations.
  6. Referral to law enforcement: for content or conduct that is criminal.

We reserve the right to skip earlier steps for violations we consider serious. Termination decisions consider the nature of the violation, the customer's history, and the risk to our infrastructure and other customers.

Reporting AUP violations

If you believe a Candor Host customer is violating this AUP, report it to abuse@candorhost.com. See our Abuse Reporting Policy for what to include in a report and what happens after we receive one.

Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to customers by email or through the client portal at least 30 days before taking effect.
